Artist Statement

Eleanor Kotlarik Wang believes art has an important connection to the life and spirit of all people; moreover art has the ability to transcend cultural differences and unify people. She works in an expressive, personal vein, often using patterns or images from nature and world cultures in a contemporary fusion of paint, collage and printmaking.

Artist Biography

Eleanor is an artist based in Virginia who has also enjoyed exposure in the international art world. Her paintings have been exhibited in various juried and solo shows and are in private and corporate collections in the U.S., Europe and Asia. She has been a participant in the Arts in Embassies Program as well as in a regional U.S. sponsored art tour promoting good will in Eastern Europe. Eleanor has a BS in Education and has studied in France, at the Corcoran School of Art, and other schools developing her art, including residencies at Vermont Studio Center and Red Gate Gallery in Beijing.

Eleanor is an active member of Studio Gallery in Washington DC. She has been a docent at the National Gallery of Art since 2009 where she has combined her interests in art and education. Eleanor has also created various art workshops for students in the DC area, as well as in Beijing where she had lived from 2005-2008.
