Artist Statement

Award winning contemporary expressionist, Leanne Fink, creates unforgettable, indelible images in oils. On one level, her work delights viewers with a bright and bold palette. And yet, in that same moment, it reaches through to the heart of the art lover and demands introspection.

"The way I see it, our world is a gift. I enjoy recording and interpreting the beauty of my surroundings through oil painting. For me, vibrant color and fundamental shape form integral parts of that experience. A visually dynamic work of art has the power to awaken the senses and move the spirit.

"Art inspires... it is for everyone. This idea compels me to paint and exhibit my work so that others may enjoy a glimpse into my world of color."

Leanne is always searching for the next something. Without blinders or preconceptions, she is able to discover new subjects that speak to her heart. Inspired by scenes that reach across the globe and back home to Virginia, new challenges always await her. A solitary tree is as important to explore as a multi-faceted cityscape or someone wandering through a park on a sunny day.

In the fabric of life, many threads are woven. Art has been a way of life and a family tradition since early childhood. Leanne earned a degree in fine art and pursued a commercial career as an art director. She began her own ad agency in the New York metro area. Next she embraced the role of art instructor for her children. After retirement from two decades in practice as a doctor of chiropractic, life has come full circle. She considers her return to oil painting a gift to be treasured every day.

Leanne is an energetic force in the Northern Virginia regional arts community. Her work can be seen in juried art shows and private collections. Her studio is located in Loudoun County, Virginia where she also teaches private lessons. Represented by District Arts Gallery, Frederick, MD. Memberships include The Loudoun Sketch Club (President 2019), Oil Painters of America, Loudoun Arts Council, Friends of Leesburg Public Arts, Falls Church Arts and the Women’s Caucus for Art-Washington, DC.
